n Vietnam, the diagnosis and treatment of stroke patients remain lacking due to limited awareness of strokes. Recurrences prove to be more acute and therefore more challenging. Early and standard treatment is required to decrease stroke mortality and sequelae.
Between 2008 and 2011, Ministry of Health and World Stroke Organization cooperated to organize ABC Education Program Stroke Management in 58 provinces along the country. 8,596 doctors from all provinces of Vietnam received medical training from world’s leading experts from World Stroke Organization and Vietnamese professors. All attendees of the program received certificates awarded by World Stroke Organization and Ministry of Health. The success of this program has set an example for other countries in the region.
